The tickets were acquired yesterday for the X-Mas Jam. I'm finally going to be able to see Dave play solo (at least I'm pretty sure it is going to be just him playing)!!!! I'm so excited. I'm going with pweaver1922, and his family that live down there. I do realize he won't play a lot considering there is a lot of other people playing that night, but its still exciting.

Last night of the last show of the summer tour for Dave Matthews Band. It was in his home town of Charlottesville, VA at a brand new arena. And it was absolutely amazing. You could tell that they were thrilled to be home and sort of relieved that it was the last show. The band was really relaxed and goofed off during a lot of it. But their jam sessions were full of energy. And it was the longest show I've seen. They played almost 4 hours straight and we didn't walk out of the arena until midnight. When they played Dancing Nancies we just knew that was the last song before the Encore, but was pleasantly surprised when Robert Randolph came out with his steel guitar to play 3 more songs with the band. We got to hear a couple of new songs, one called Butterfly that Dave wrote for his daughters, it was beautiful.

But ... another show season down ... and I still didn't get to hear #41. Yes, I'm kind of disappointed, but that just gives me more reason to keep going to shows to hear my song. Here is the set list from last night ... even though I didn't get my song, it was an awesome list that I'm not complaining at all about.

Oh yeah, and they were selling Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream there ...

Recently I’ve started talking to a friend of mine that I went to college with. We were ok friends in school, but once school was over with he was always after me to come up and see him (he lives about 3 hours from me). We only ever talked through aim.

I never took him up on that offer because I didn't feel right going up to see him on his turf knowing only him. Yes, I did know this guy, but I just didn't think it was right for the girl to always have to go to the guy. I was in a relationship like that for a while and got tired of it (we always did what the guy wanted to do ... never stuff that I liked ... hence ... no longer with him ... lol!).

So last week he finally gave up and is willing to come down here. I guess he couldn't take it longer and realized I was stubborn and wasn't giving in. He wants to take me out to dinner, which I accepted. But a good friend put her foot down and said it wouldn't be alone just in case. So I think when we do go out it will be with a group of people. There is more to this guy then I’m letting on so that is why the friend put her foot down ... she knows the situation.

I just don’t think it is fair that the guys always think that the girl has to come to where ever they live or do whatever they want to do. And it seems to happen a lot more then you think. I realize sometimes there are situations when it makes more sense for it to work that way, but not always! And I know that somewhere there are guys that aren't like that, but I've not met many.

Ok ... I guess I’ll get off my soap-box now.

Finally ... after being gone for two weeks I'm back home (at least for two night ... lol). I have to say that it feels pretty good even though I'm the type that does like to be gone ... two weeks was hard.

We got back from KY a little before 5:30 this evening, and I didn't have to house sit for the night like I originally was told. Which I'm not complaining about.

My sister got a name for a breeder in KY that has Welsh Corgis. We went with a mission to find a puppy, but only found a lady with a Corgi (the Corgi's name was Simba ... a sign wouldn't you say puck_nut?) ... we knew it had to be a good dog ... she told us that the people she got her dog from were expecting another littler any time ... her puppy dog was a little over a year old. We did call the people and they seem very nice and have 4 puppies right now. I think one has been spoken for, but the guy's wife was out of town and she knew for sure about stuff as far as what was available and what wasn't. They are suppose to call us back ... keep your fingers crossed!

Over all the trip was a lot of fun as usual.

I'm getting very excited to see DMB this week in Cincinnati!!!!!!! I was hoping he would play my favorite song, #41, but I just saw the set list from tonight's show and he actually played it there ... bummer ... and he hasn't played it any this tour. He changes the set list every night and doesn't repeat many songs. I don't figure that will be a song he repeats on Tuesday. I'm still holding out for Two-Step though. It is another great one ... really there isn't a bad one. There are some I like more then others, but I like it all.

I'm back at home ... well not "my" home, but at least in my state! In a way I guess I could say it feels good to be back (but then a part of me would give anything to be back down there, or at least closer to it so it wasn't a 10 hour drive to get there!). Back to the real world though. Hopefully I won't have to much stuff piled on my desk at work.

The next two weeks should keep me occupied with doing stuff just about every day.

I met a guy yesterday ... of course ... on the last day. lol! Just my luck!

This puppy I'm watching right now is a little terror!!! 100% puppy!

I did get the pirate flag I've wanted since Buffett ... I'll make an icon out of it and post it in a few days. I had it on the car yesterday out on the beach and tried to get pictures of it there, but it was so windy I don't know how well it will turn out. I also got the skull and cross bones OBX sticker. Can we see a theme here ... lol!! The Outer Banks was home to Black Beard!

So much for Tropical Storm Beryl! It didn't amount to anything here in Hatteras. We had some rain about 7:30 this morning (I got woke up by it hitting the window) and that was it!! There was no wind, rain, big surf or anything. The weather people really made a big deal out of nothing. Of course I'm totally relieved because I wasn't happy thinking I was going to have to cut my time in the sun down. It was actually hotter today then it has been all week. And we thought we may get some clouds through out the day today, but there was just the clouds on the horizon from the storm. Nothing on shore.

Hey, puck_nut, I got your pirate flag today. Now all we need is that ship!!! LOL!

We went down to Frisco Pier and I saw a bunch of Jellyfish floating around at the end of the pier. I took some pictures I'll have to upload. It was freaky looking and at first I didn't know what it was because it looked like a balloon floating down there ... it was a "squishy," LOL!!

Our first official day at the beach was great! We were out from 10:30-4:30. I know, we left a little earlier then planned, but after all day we all pretty beat from the sun.

While we were out there we were able to help an older couple from NY get unstuck out of the sand ... they hadn't let the air out of their tires, and as soon as I did that the guy was able to drive right out. They were also fellow Subaru owners! If you've never driven on the sand you have to let the air down to 15 so that you increase the surface area of your tires and you just float on top of the sand ... we didn't have any problems. The only place that you drive around with flat tires!

I applied the "preached" about sunscreen ... lol!! And, alas ... I didn't get burnt ... imagine that?!?! LOL!! The weather is great ... and a couple in a big truck beside of us played Jimmy Buffett all day ... what great music for a place like this! The water is also crystal clear, which is comforting in that you can see there is nothing down there ... lol!!

Yesterday evening we went to the local seafood shop and got some shrimp, tilapia, and blue crabs. It was a great dinner ... and ... sit down ... I ate the fish ... and liked it!!! It didn't have a fishy taste at all. Today I think we are getting Mahi-Mahi. The Blue Crabs were interesting ... I didn't partake in that but watched as the rest of the family dissected those little fellows. I like crab, but not when I have to get it out myself, unless it is in the form of big crab legs.

Today will be much of the same. Oh, and as puck_nut said yesterday ... Keep on swimmin ... keep on swimmin ... keep on swimmin ... lol!!

THE BEACH

We made it down here to Hatteras at about 4:00 ... we left WV at about 6:00 this morning. Over all we made good time, and never really had any bad traffic.

My sister, uncle and I just came back in from being out in the ocean for about an hour. The water wasn't to bad once you got in it, and the waves were fun. Now we are getting things in order at the house and get started on making dinner.

I hope everyone has a good week. puck_nut & sharkbait have a good time on Lepp Trek!! I'm sure I'll talk to you sometime this week.

Tickets went on sale yesterday for the Charlottesville show. They were going on sale through the venue's website, and not through Ticketmaster (this is a brand new facility that isn't even open yet). I just checked to see what I may pull up, and they are sold out. I'm very relieved that I got mine through the Warehouse!!! Both days are sold out. I can't wait!!!!
